You are conflating the work of photographer Hans Eijkelboom and the words of the author Rian Dundon.

Eijkelboom clearly collated the photos for ‘art’, not any kind of scientific study. FWIW, I’ve done similar with landscape photography, finding dissimilar scenes with similar leading lines.
