Back during the Chechen wars I saw some translated Russian anti-Chechen propaganda that depicted them with an overemphasis on negative traits much the way the Nazis depicted Jews. Is that still going on? If so, no wonder there was resistance to letting a "dirty Chechen" into their inner circle.
