What we saw was clearly an attempt by trump to get Biden flustered and muff up a line or two - that they could play over and over ad nauseam.

He failed.

That said, Biden's prep team should have seen this coming, and drilled some Reagan-esque pat responses. The one that comes to mind is Reagan's "Well, there you go again..." to which I'd have added "is any of it true?", playing on what we all know about trump and truth.

I will say that “When? Insh’Allah?” was perfect. My wife (who taught ESL to Arabic speakers) thought it meant “I hope”, but my experience of it in Beirut was more of a “Yeah, it might happen if God steps in, otherwise not”. Turns out we were both right (depends on the context)

I would hope that the Biden team declines the next debates - unless the moderator has control of the microphones.
