For me, it's a much beloved hobby, done for my own satisfaction, and potentially for the folks around me.

Back in the 60s my dad - a serious amateur photographer - warned me about turning it into a job - that it would take the joy out.

He was right as I discovered with one of my other hobbies: creating software. Maybe I'll get back to that one day. The way you've gotten back to photography gives me some hope in that direction.
