Well done! One bit of trivia re:

In 1985-ish 'shelf stable' explosives were developed in the US. I'd expect that we have nearly none of the stuff-that-expires in our reserves as AFAIK we use the oldest stuff first.

It's not clear that *any* Soviet-era shells have shelf-stable explosive in them, just based on the troubles that the USSR was going through in the 80s.

So whatever that " total number of Soviet HE-frag shells in reserve" is, it's all past its use-by date.
