Vehicles have been trending less and less serviceable. Making a glued-together battery pack part of vehicle structure is another step in that direction where failure in one or several cells might lead to vehicle replacement / remanufacture. If cells last a very long time this might not be a deal breaker, but it needs to be part of the cost evaluation.
