Update #2

Of the microphones available for a reasonable price on eBay, I’d suggest the MXL AC-404. It’s a 3-capsule ‘boundary’ mic, meaning it performs best on a flat surface — but it works fine in free air up to 15' from a speaker. It has decent noise cancellation and echo cancelling. (If you’re using Zoom, that has EC as well). Got mine for under US$30.

If you ended up buying a VADDIO PTZ cam, you want the VADDIO ‘deployment tool’, available through Legrand (US distributor). If you’re not ‘up’ on network protocols or DHCP, and so don’t know the IP of your cam, this tool will find it for you. It will also let you update cam firmware and change the admin password.

I also got a VADDIO IR remote for the cam. They retail for around US$150, which I wasn’t willing to pay, but one appeared on eBay for under US$20, so I grabbed it. I plan to ‘learn’ the IR codes it emits for the IR central system I have all my A/V stuff connected to. I’ll post that to RemoteCentral.
