To the extent that toxins / environmental pollution are an issue, look to activating the NRF2 pathway.

- isothiocyanates (sulforaphane and moringin)

- quercetin

- curcurmin

Dr Jed Fahey at Johns Hopkins has done a number of studies with the effects of sulforaphane (including showing results with schizophrenia and autism), and Dr Rhonda Patrick has been writing about it quite cogently. It's also potentially an anti-aging pathway (I'd guess that that's primarily due to inflammation reduction).

Maybe google either one of these folks to get the complete story on NRF2 ? There's a lot of good info out there. I'd suggest also googling NRF2, but the results (mostly PubMed) are pretty technical.
