Thinking a particular piece of gear will get you the shot you want is indeed incorrect - until you are trying to do something that your current gear is incapable of. Consider low light (here’s an example)

Yes, you can probably get this shot with a crop sensor (shot stacking / long exposure) but that changes the trade-offs. At a minimum you’d need a very solid tripod…

TL;DR: you don’t need a new piece of gear until your current stuff can’t do what you ‘see’.
