I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. Russia is weak enough to suffer some "unequal" treaties of its own. If you look at a map, that still leaves China effectively blocked by the First Island Chain (plus Sakhalin) so I don't expect this acquisition if it happens to reduce pressure on Taiwan.
