I'm not sure that's a bad thing. I have no issue handing out full resolution images (not a pro, would be nice if somebody credits me, but I don't care much if they don't - so long as they don't claim it as their own work).
But there are some sites (e.g. 500px) where the resolution is deliberately limited, so pros can post, get whatever helpful feedback might be out there, without freely distributing work that they own.
Here on Medium, there still seems to be enough resolution to make any compositional point - and if the point is technical, there's no reason an image can't be enlarged, and a crop posted so as to illustrate, say, how unsharp mask works.
BTW, if anyone wants a full 24mp copy of something I've posted here - just ask.
