There's an advert running on youtube that cracks me up. It's a "what an office would be like if it worked like a website". When it got to someone trying to pour a cup of coffee - and the stream of coffee was going everywhere but the cup (contrary to gravity) I just lost it, couldn't stop laughing. My wife wanted to know what was so funny. It was the nugget of truth that got me.
It's completely out of our control, and whatever we do is likely to change even after we've published it. All I can suggest is to put a properly formatted version somewhere linkable (substack?) with a "Tired of looking at articles formatted for phones? Click here for this article formatted for larger screens" or something like that in your article (maybe right under the subhead?)
Look at the bright side: they haven't let the team that botched the responses editor work on the main one - at least not yet.
