The Russian military leadership isn't totally inept. They can see their vulnerability as well as anyone else, probably better - they just have implementation issues (long command chain w associated delays, troops trained to have no independent initiative, incapable of combined arms ops, no command of airspace. probably more as I’m no military expert). This article doesn't tell them anything they don't already know.
