Came here to add this. It's a clear indication of troop (and lower officer) morale that the top guy has to put himself into artillery range - in spite of knowing that he's being hunted.

Speaking of artillery, now that the UAF has M777s, potentially with guided munitions and Bayraktars for targeting, it'll be considerably more difficult for RF forces to settle artillery and ammo in one place to pound civillian infrastructure (with neither moving, they can use ranging shots to get dialed in). They're being forced into 'shoot and scoot'. Gotta wonder how well they'll be able to both do that and hit targets.
