Even without Russia meddling, we’d still have waves of hopefuls coming from places like Venezuela (country in collapse) and Guatemala (ecological damage and gang violence).

Personally, I think the US *needs* people in their 20s and 30s who want to work, but one political party has decided that this is a target they want to blame everything on. You could argue that Russia has also meddled there - if nothing else campaign donations pipelined through the NRA - and you wouldn't be wrong.
