I’m in the Northeast. I live in a cohousing community (houses clustered on the same land that would have been otherwise used up one-house-per-acre).

We’ve been planting potentially blight resistant elms, but if there are blight resistant chestnuts available, I’d be excited to add them to the mix.

Before asking what tree nurseries I might be able to find chestnuts I did a search, came up with the Chestnut Growers of America site with an index of growers, organized regionally.

Yeah, I’m an old guy — and fifteen years is a long time for me, but I’m glad to do this for the folks who come after me.

For anyone else in New England, curious about Native American and colonial use of the land, I’d recommend William Cronon’s “Changes in the Land”
