>>Thanks for reading, and getting angry.
Sorry, taking a pass on the 'angry'. :-)
They do have a place in users' daily commute, particularly if there isn't a shower and changing facility at the workplace. eBikes use a lot less energy than cars, even the electric ones, although I'd favor scooters (electric or push) for 'last mile' commute sections, particularly when combined with public transport. I used a Xootr (foot power) for some years to commute two miles to/from the train station when there wasn’t snow/ice. Scooters can fold up small enough to not present a problem when taken onto public transport. If you’re considering a push scooter, the Xootr is a good choice. My only complaint is that the deck is a bit too high for efficiency — but that’s made up for by the long glide that comes from the large diameter polyethylene-shod wheels. At the time there were only wide-deck models, so the height was needed to keep the deck from grounding in turns. There are narrow deck ones now, and if they introduce one with a lower deck, I’ll buy it in spite of not commuting anymore — just because they’re fun to ride.
Also, a push bike with drop bars for commuting? They’re great for going fast when wearing the right attire, but…
