as I've mentioned in private notes over the course of several articles, silicon and silicone are very different things. Everything I've read (excepting your articles) indicate that it's silicon (as in silicon substrate used in integrated circuits) that's in use.

Sorry to have to bring it up in the responses - if it is indeed silicone could you respond with a link?
