For anyone having an issue with this, it's easier if you crack the shell on something flat, like a plate, then pull the two halves apart. I know at least one person who can do that pull one-handed (sort of a Vulcan salute while holding the cracked egg) but I've decided I'm OK using both hands. Also, crack into a separate bowl, just in case...
That said, it's amazing how kids can code switch. One kid I knew grew up speaking Thai to his classmates, English to Dad, Russian to Mom. I remember meeting them in an airport. A kid his age asked him a question in English and he responded in Thai (turns out he thought all kids spoke Thai to each other, even if they could speak English or Russian).
