Speaking of DEXA, some models of Tanita (and I think Withings?) body composition scales have been accepted by the FDA. I know Tanita has at least one model that would be appropriate for a primary care office - and it might be a quick way to determine whether it made sense to send a patient off for a DEXA. I think they might also estimate bone density as the cheap body composition scale I have at home does that as well. Again, a quick way to see if a patient might need a more accurate diagnostic.
