side note having *nothing* to do with Russia or Ukraine: if you live in a climate that even occasionally gets below freezing, consider PEX plumbing in place of copper. It's enough more-flexible that when the water inside it freezes and so expands all that happens is the water stops flowing. Like a garden hose with water frozen in it, once the water inside melts it's back to being functional.
Speaking as someone with a seasonal lake house in northern Maine. You can guess what happened. after the eighth (or maybe tenth) repair one Spring I got mad and ripped all the copper out, put PEX in.
TL;DR got a choice? Get the PEX. Even if you live in Texas.
