So he dies. Then what? The Trumpies are still out there. They'll have a martyr to continue to worship - and continue to think that the majority of the country is with them. Trump (and the trumpies) need to lose hard. They need to see how very unwanted they are by a vast majority of the country.

For that to happen, he needs to survive, and continue the election.

There seems to be a move afoot in the Republican state legislatures to subvert the election by doing whatever they can to make an utter hash of the election, then, because it's a mess, appoint electors themselves. There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that guarantees that electors follow the popular vote of the state they're appointed from.

Trump dead would probably stop that. So election not stolen, but Trumpism still around. Not the worst thing that could happen, but also not the best.

Assuming he lives, I am beyond OK with him spending the rest of his days behind bars - and I do mean all the rest of his days.
