Side-note for people with telescopes or cameras equipped with a star tracker (gadget that counter's earth's rotation). The easiest way I've found to point at the North Celestial Pole is to point your guide laser at a point between polaris and kochab, one degree away from polaris (full moon is half a degree wide). No need to use a guide-scope plus table to figure out how far away from polaris and which way to go - kochab'll do it for you. Note the photo below is with a tracker pointed this way, but a wide lens, so kind of a cheat — here to show the lack of star trailing…
