Quackery to the side, there's a real need for, well, pretty much anything that can help autistic kids - and there are some interesting studies coming out about the effects of something called sulforaphane on a number of mental afflictions, including autism.
The best part about sulforiphane is that you can make your own fairly inexpensively (broccoli sprouts - or, of you're closer to the equator, there's a related isothiocyanate in moringa leaves).
