>>Russia’s fleet of illegal oil tankers is collapsing.
I'm expecting an eco-disaster from these. A lot of this substandard shipping goes via the Baltic, which is very (very!) fragile. Very little in the way of depth or current, lots of shoreline. I've read that the Danes are starting to inspect these tankers. I hope they take the ones that are just an accident postponed out of circulation. Also, there's zero chance the Russians might compensate countries that suffer a disaster. My concern isn't so much money - but uninsured tankers need to be treated the same as unsafe ones: drain the oil, hold the vessel until the issue is remedied.
