Possibly related: I've been using a facial/nasal steamer whenever I think I'm starting to "come down with something". I got the idea after reading that influenza first colonizes the nose - and that it's susceptible to higher-than-body temperatures.

I'd been using a steamer to help with sinus headaches from hay fever (and it def works for that).

Back to the flu: it seems to work for me (possibly placebo). But once I start to feel lousy (which I take to mean that it's now no longer just in my nose), steaming my head does nothing to affect the course of the disease - other than to make my head feel better.

All that said, that's the flu not covid - it might work - but at least it won't hurt anybody.

If you decide to try this out yourself, one hint: use distilled water or you'll be scrubbing minerals out of your steamer.
