You seem confused as to which nation did the resource grabbing. The resource we're talking about is Ukranian shale oil. Putting wells in would hamper Russia's ability to blackmail Europe.

Go look at the global list of petroleum exporters. Note that the US is on there, down around sixth or seventh place. The US has no need for Ukranian oil. Russia needs it not to be available.

You're a B school professor. The "Treaty" of Minsk isn't a treaty at all, but a set of protocols - you link to an online newspaper rather than a primary document- and the paper calls them "protocols". Pretty shoddy work and I have to wonder if you teach your students to do the same and whether that reflects on your institution.
