This is a recipe for warping a pan. I warped a couple of All-Clads and a French Cuisinart by rinsing them when they were smoking hot.

Warped pans work fine over gas, OKish on glass-top IR, less well on direct electric, and quite badly on induction. I had no idea I’d ruined my pans for induction as I was cooking on gas.

As an alternate solution, I'd suggest a fragrance-free dish soap, and, as you mention, not using the dishwasher for pots and pans.
