On Nikon cameras, at least you can set the rear panel to greyscale (via the 'Profile' - used for in-camera processing for SOOC JPEGs); if you then shoot in raw mode, the colors are all still there so you can effectively apply the color filters that would have otherwise gone on the front of your lens (pretty much change luminosity on separate colors before converting to B&W)

I mostly shoot color, but leave my review panel in greyscale so I can check on gamma balance (dunno about you, but bright contrasting colors can fool me - sometimes they're the same gamma).

I started out on B&W (wasn't able to develop color film in my home lab). There's still an attraction.

BTW, if anyone wants color filters, I have R and Y2 in various dimensions (mostly Hoya 'Pro'). If you tell me the size you're looking for, if I have it, it's yours for the cost of postage.
