Non-Jewish person here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there had been some Talmudic argumentation being used to help figure things out.

I was introduced to the practice in the late 80s. Two of us would carefully read a piece of code, and then have a verbal sparring match (Talmudic argumentation) over what, exactly, it did. Apparently, that’s how Jewish scholars understand the Talmud (both read, then verbal hand-to-hand)

I found it useful as a way to ground myself in what I actually understand about something complex to the point of not quite grasping it and then have a back-and-forth (more like a series of these) with someone else who has done the same thing — giving us both a better chance at actually having arrived at something that “maps” reality.

I can see the utility for anyone trying to grasp something difficult - and quantum physics are, if nothing else, difficult.
