>>Nikkor 50mm f/1.8

The f/1.4 is IMO a much better lens - and I see less than a $50 difference in used examples. I'm still holding onto a 50mm f/1.4 D that was great on my F1, and is now great on my D750. About all I give up is modern coatings. The D is no slouch except when it comes to light sources right in-frame - and no bayonet hood, so I need to shade the front element without getting a finger in frame. Not a biggie. Together with a FF DSLR, I get a small, light package that doesn't look 'pro', so so long as I just use a wrist strap I can go all sorts of places where pro photography is frowned upon.
