Members of any IRB probably have cognitive biases. I have them, too. For instance, I'd consider it unethical to vaccinate one group of children with polio vaccine - and not vaccinate the other. I'm old enough to have seen what polio can do. I didn't have any friends die or have to live in an iron lung, but one has needed crutches since then. Show me studies indicating that the polio vaccine is as dire.
