Maybe just limit what you're following?

From what I understand, a lot of the issue has to do with how the FB 'algorithm' decides what to put in your newsfeed.

You might google "Unfollow Everything", a browser written by a FB user who was trying to make FB more enjoyable for all users. He got a Cease and Desist for his troubles. All the add-in did was was a way to unfollow everything - with the expectation that you could then re-follow a more limited set.

I'd guess the C&D had to do with removing FB data targeting.

But... there's no reason you can't get the same result without the add-in. The idea is to make FB enjoyable for you - and maybe limit the data that 'the algorithm' uses to put potential rabbit holes in your feed.

Disclaimer: Never FBer here. (long story, but mostly just knowing what kind of person Zuck was early on)
