Thanks for putting it out there! BTW, you write “try it!”: I would suggest EditPadPro for any Win programmers. It has full regex support, comes already able to understand a plethora of syntaxes (for syntax coloring), more can be easily added. IMO, this is the easiest way to see a regex in action. Paste some of thye text you’ll be groveling through into the text area, put your regex in the search area (be sure you’ve ticked the ‘regex’ box) and ‘find’ highlights each match. Pretty handy when you’re learning — and there is a definite learning curve. Not connected with the company, other than as a customer.
