Lastpass fan here. Yes, they were broken into, and the hackers might have managed to steal some data. So? the data is securely encrypted with each user’s master password. If you forget your LastPass master password, the LastPass staff can’t recover it for you. They have no access. Setup this way, your password data is safe however someone gets a copy of your encrypted ‘blob’.

I would hope that other password managers work the same way. I got on board when LP first debuted, been using it since them. No connection with them other than that.

BTW, LastPass suppords several methods of two factor authentication (2FA). I find the Yubikey to be the easiest. If you have the option, use 2FA. I use it in my GApps, LastPass, my DNS name server provider, several other places.
