I've got a fold-out QWERTY bluetooth keyboard. It's maybe 70% the size of a desktop no-tenkey (TKL) keyboard but I can still type faster than I can talk (just more errors).
I learned in HS, my dad persuaded me to take a typing class. The draft was a thing. He says: your gonna get drafted. Me: yeah, dad. Him: you can stay off the front lines if can just say one thing. Me: what's that? Him: I can type
I was the only male student in the class (this was the 60s). My dad did some crazy-dangerous things in WWII (forward observer / scout) but he did *not* think his kid should have do the same - even though we differed on the US being in Vietnam.
Gotta love QWERTY keyboards. :-)
