It probably indicates that I'm a "bad person", but I found myself laughing over how transparent Innovinc is here. Then I got sad about the system that forces their victims into having to pad CVs for professional survival.

I'd add that Innovinc was only transparent (and so hilarious) to me because you pointed it out. And Innovinc isn't super-different from those (IMO predatory) self-publishing companies that some Medium writers might fall for.

To be fair, the manuscripts Marvin Minsky printed on then-recent-tech laser printers might count as self-publishing, but he was looking for feedback, not ego support - and there was no external company involved.

I'd encourage you to visit Innovinc - maybe tell them you had an upcoming webinar about predatory conferences - would they like to present for a very reasonable fee?
