I'm hoping Liz Cheney decides to put her thumb in the eye of what's now the MAGA party and starts her own - for conservatives who believe in democracy. They're certainly out there.

The effect would be as a spoiler - but I'd also hope that they get enough votes to survive as a party. The country needs different parties representing different viewpoints - but they both need to agree on both a common reality - and support democracy.

Our 'first past the post' system makes it nearly impossible for more than two parties to survive, but hand the MAGATs a couple of resounding defeats and maybe (fingers crossed) Liz's possible party might live on...
