If you're saying that just one case a-z has more elements than a-z, plus A-Z, plus 0-9 plus at least some special characters then we disagree as to what's meant by an 'alphabet' and we probably also disagree on combinatorics.
I'd agree that requiring those elements is dumb as it makes users less likely to use a passphrase.
