I’d point out that shooting both JPG and raw simultaneously is available on most DSLRs — but it’s not a great solution as the approach to exposure changes depending on the output format.
With JPG you probably want your brightest / non specular areas at least a stop below blown out. But with RAW, you want to get those spots just as close to being blown out, without going over that line, as you can.
I seldom need to hand someone shots right away and so stopped bothering with JPG some years ago.
I use DxO PhotoLab and PS CS6. In PL, once you have a default profile set up, it’s pretty trivial to export JPG versions of all my raw shots.
Also, if you are shooting raw, I’d strongly recommend FastRawViewer to quickly cull out the shots with blown highlights, blown focus, or compositional errors — and you can un-cull them if you change your mind — before going to to actual PP.
