I’d have to respectfully disagree about victimhood on the Left. Yeah, the LBTQ folks are feeling victimized, but are they not? Ditto women not earning as much as men for the exact same jobs. And this nation has a long history of victimizing Black people. It’s still continuing, albeit a bit more hidden these days.

Taking the victimhood of those folks seriously, trying to do something about it is narcissism? Really?

I’ll admit to being a bit dismissive of people whose only goal is to ‘own the libtards’. You think they’re fine? I think they’re ill/mis-informed, Faux “News” being the major contributor to that misinformation. I don’t think they’re evil or stupid.

I agree that coming from being the ‘top of the pack’ (white males, christianity) to something closer to equality is felt as a loss by those in those positions.

And I agree with the Trumpies that it’s time to stop the endless foreign wars. If this was the single factor in the presidential election, well, Clinton, as Sec of State, seemed pretty OK with those wars.

We’ve edged into a situation where there isn’t a draft, reservists are pretty much joining for active service so the rest of us aren’t constantly reminded that we’re in wars, and the Executive has, in spite of the War Powers Act, edged out Congress’ right to be arbiter of whether we go to (or stay in a) war or not. Further, for people below upper-middle class, going into the military is opportunity,(education and experience) possibly their only. So that’s who signs up, that’s who feels the brunt. If you, your friends and family are feeling that brunt, you don’t need to be a narcissist to feel victimized.
