I wonder how our recent history of States' compacts might play into this.

As we all remember, States were (and pretty much still are) on their own as regards Covid19, particularly on finding supplies of PPE. (as a side note, I find it credible that Jared's 'PPE task force' decided not to bother when they saw that the early pandemic was hitting primarily 'blue' states.)

In response to this, a number of East coast states (probably on the West as well, but I haven't been tracking those) formed compacts for purposes of acquiring PPE.

We may find these 'naturally aligned' states pushed into other compacts, particularly if/when feelings run high and, say, states pass laws requiring 'state of origin' on labels.

Interesting times, indeed.
