I went to school in France in the 70s. One of my buds got beer up his nose when I told the group about maple syrup (yes beer, not wine; Alsatian beer is good). I understand the syrup is consumed there, now - as are bottled water and mussels here (which were not a thing in the US back then - bright side: no license needed for harvesting mussels)

As far as flavored coffee, particularly artificially flavored coffee, I completely understand a European (or anyone, really) not liking it. My theory is that nobody who likes the stuff drinks it black.

Any black (just the coffee) flavored-coffee drinkers out there?
