I remember seeing a little church with a sign explaining exactly that - but I don't remember where, exactly. My MIL lived on Oa'hu and my wife and I would typically fly out a couple of times a year, pick her up, and we'd all head off to another island together. We were all over the place. I have a vague recollection that it was the trip that we were at the Lion coffee roastery where there's a statue of Captain Cook across the bay (apparently, he was killed on that spot - but I never got close enough to read any signage on the plinth, so WTH knows). I learned to never expect to be able to put my feet up on vacation. :-)
