I feel about the same way about my old D700.

Interesting approach with the split-glass (yeah, I miss them, too) but the Nikon D series lenses both work with the camera's AF (screw drive) and have that super satisfying 'machined like a watch' feel when you move the focus ring. Dunno about the Voightlander, but those D lenses work with the 'aperture follower' on the camera body, so you can go full manual on the lens. The only place the D lenses fall down in comparison to the new ones is the lens coatings - which is mostly an issue with uncontrolled light - landscapes - and for those 12 MP just isn't enough for the sizes I often print (although you can hide a pixel deficit by printing on canvas, and QImage's fractal enlarge is pretty good).
