I ended up picking a dye photo printer - mostly because I didn't print enough to keep a pigment printer from clogging. Something to think about if you won't be printing at least a couple of days a week.

I'm pleased with the output of my Canon dye printer (particularly on glossy or metallic papers) my major complaint is that ink is unreasonably expensive.

Also, for anyone printing a good bit: check out Qimage; calling it a print batch manager understates what it can do by a lot.
