Great PSA - but it's worth thinking about how much education people going through med school get on diet. Not that that wouldn't be already-outdated information. Looking at the ADA and AHA standards of care I wouldn't be surprised if in five years those were considered to be malpractice. The ADA suggests that T2DM is progressive and incurable. The AHA allows their 'Heart Healthy' logo on all sorts of things that I consider pro-inflammatory - but are low in saturated fat (and are sold by companies willing to *pay* the AHA for the rights to use that seal).
That said, I know med school is like trying to put your mouth over a garden hose - and what's true keeps changing, so I should be asking about (and pushing for) teaching people who are about to be docs techniques for keeping up with new information through their careers. At a minimum they need to graduate with the ability to read and understand studies. For that, I can't think of a better place to start than Peter Attia's 'Studying Studies'.
