Gotta wonder. They got more than a few from the US. M4a2/75 and 76, plus some M3s (the 'Lee'). I’ve read (but can’t easily find the reference) that M4s and M3s were used by the Sovs at Kursk. Both those (the M3 in particular) were outclassed by the German Panzers, but the Panzers were outnumbered. Yet another battle the Sovs won by ‘drowning their opponents in Russian blood’. Sound familiar?
