For quite a few years I shot in B&W (film) only - as that's what I could buy in bulk (much cheaper that way) and that's what I could develop at home.
Now with digital I pretty much *never* shoot in B&W. Instead I leave the review panel in monochrome and shoot in raw. OVF's in color, panel's to check composition. The colors are all still in the image; if I decide that shot's better in B&W, I have way more flexibility in post. No more lugging around (and switching) red / yellow filters.
Sorry film, never going back.
