For anyone wanting to track what's going on in China, I'd suggest the Youtube channel China Insights for an unvarnished look. TL;DW: It’s not good at all.

Also check some of what Peter Zeihan has to say about China’s demographic problem, again, TL;DW (or DR if it’s his books): They have an inverted pyramid — not enough young people, not to mention the skew in M/F numbers coming from selective female abortion so they’re at a point that they can’t fix this in 20 years.
